Prom Dress is probably going to be the most important Dress of your life so far.
Your Prom marks the time between being a child and an adult. It also usually co-incides with the end of the dreaded exams... so that is certainly something to celebrate and get excited about!

For many girls, shopping for a Prom Dress is very exciting, but for others it is enough to send them into a total panic! If you are excited, you are going to have the time of your life trying on the dresses and chosing "the one" If you are terrified, you are in for a fantastic suprise, because after the initial shock of seeing yourself in a dress, we feel certain that you will love what a Prom Dress does for your figure and confidence.

Our Prom Dresses are beautifully cut and structured. Some are simple, for understated elegance, others are boned and corseted (sounds painful, but it's not!) to give you an amazing silhouette. Then there are the dresses that are all big skirts and sequins for the full on princess image, but whatever look you are going for, we at Farsley Brides will have it.

A little bit about fabrics (we love to educate you!)
Satin is lovely and smooth and feels very opulent. Taffetta makes a gorgeous rustling sound as you move, and can shine different colours as the light catches it. Charmouse is a very soft fluid satin and works best with slinky dresses. Chiffon is soft and romantic. Tulle is the posh word for net, dresses can have tulle skirts, or tulle can be under the skirts to make them stand out more.

Prom dress lengths can be short, knee length, tea length (to the ankle) or full length, some are even short at the front and longer at the back! There are no right or wrong lengths, it is purely your decision. At Farsley Brides we have all lengths for you to chose from. Most long dresses can be shortened, and many short dresses can be ordered in a longer length.

Colour... now this is where it gets very confusing so here goes!
Some of our designers will make dresses for you in any of 66 colours, if the dress you have chosen has 2 colours then you can choose which of the 66 colours to have. Other designers have a smaller colour palette, but if you order a dress you will always have a choice of colour.

Design changes are possible on some of our dresses. This lovely green dress is availabe in 60 shades of satin, as mentioned before satin is a lovely smooth fabric. However, you may decide you would like this dress in taffetta, and with this designer you can do this. There is an organza belt with a corsage that you could have in any colour. The dress laces up the back, but you could have a zip with covered button detail. Along the top of the bodice is some bead detail, you could change this bead detail if you wish, perhaps a scattering of crystal or sequins, in the same colour or a contrasting colour.

This is a true Fairy Princess Dress. It has a satin boned bodice and a huge skirt made from many layers of tulle. The dress is available to order in other colours.

Dresses to order
When you find the dress of your dreams we will measure you, bust, waist and hips, your measurements will then be compared to the designers measurement charts. If your bust comes up as a size 10, your waist a size 12 and your hips a size 14, then we will order a size 14 to be made for you.
Dresses that we order for you take about 12 to 16 weeks to arrive in store so it is very important that you order your dress as soon as you fall in love with it, it would be awful if we were unable to get the dress for you.

Once you gorgeous dress arrives in store we will ring you to arrange your 1st fitting. This is where we will pin your dress (with you in it!) so that we can make your dress fit you perfectly. After all the work has been done you will come back for your 2nd fit, try it on once more just to make sure, and then arrange a day that you would like to come and collect you very, very special dress. Before you take it we will have steamed it so it isn't creased. So there it is, your amazing prom dress, that fits you perfectly, and has been steamed and is hanging in a lovely big pink bag, how exciting!
We do charge extra for doing the alterations, it is only fair. Some girls will need only a few alterations and other girls will need more, so you will only be charged for what we do, instead of an "alterations package" that some shops offer.
